Cait Lynch, ISME’s HR Advisor
Cait is a HR professional with experience across a wide variety of sectors including FMCG, Manufacturing, Transport, Engineering and the Health and Social Care. Prior to Joining ISME she held a number of Employee Relations specialist roles, most recently working as Recruitment and Employee Relations Specialist with Nursing Homes Ireland. She holds a B.Comm from UCC, majoring in Employment Law and People Management.
Patricia Murray, Senior Work & Organisational Psychologist, HSA
Patricia is the professional Work and Organisational Psychologist at the Health and Safety Authority (HSA). She directs and manages the national psychosocial Programme of Work. She designed, developed and leads the work-related stress and bullying portfolios and initiatives focused on increased employee well-being. She uses evidence-based behavioural science to inform targeted safety behavior change nationally across all industry sectors.
Patricia was the HSA nominee on the Govt. Task Force on Workplace Bullying Prevention (1999-2001) and Govt. Expert Advisory Group 2005 and the ILO on violence in 2006. She has widely presented at national and international level: conferences, stakeholder meetings and research platforms on various aspects of workplace behavior and continues to provide expertise on behalf of the HSA, to various national and EU bodies.
Patricia was a journalist with the Irish Press in her early career and contributes regularly to print and broadcast media on a wide range of topics from the serious to the light, and enjoys the range these two career paths have brought her. A qualified Organisational Psychologist, Patricia has continued learning throughout her career, recently achieving a First Class Honour in Corporate Governance (2020, IPA) a PG Diploma in Data Analytics (2017, NCI) and a Masters in Psychoanalytic studies (2014, TCD) She is a Ministerial Appointee to the Advisory Board of the National Anti-Bullying Centre (ABC) at DCU and also lectures part-time in UCD, Trinity College and UCC.
John Barry, Managing Director, MSS
John Barry has been a practitioner in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations for over 42 years. A graduate in law, John began his HR career with the Ford Motor Company, Dagenham, England, as a Labour Relations Officer.
In 1980 John relocated to Ireland, joining the FUE (now IBEC), and in 1988, John established Management Support Services (Ireland) Limited, providing advice, HR and administration support, and representation on all matters concerning Irish Employment Law, Human Resource Practice and Procedures, Industrial Relations and Recruitment services, to a broad range of companies, small, medium and large. MSS have been members of, and worked closely with, ISME since its formation.
John is the Co- Author of two books, “Practical Employment Law” and “What is the Law? Termination and Redundancy” and would regularly provide public commentary and training on HR related matters.
