ISME, the only independent representative association for Small and Medium Enterprises in Ireland, is currently seeking applicants for the part-time role of HR Advisor
Contract type: Permanent, Part-Time (Approx. 20 hours per week, 5 mornings/week preferred)
Working arrangements: this role will be a hybrid working arrangement divided between remote working and working at our office in Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
Who we are:
ISME currently has more than 10,500 members nationwide. Based on Kildare Street in Dublin, it exists to support SME owner-managers by lobbying on their behalf, providing advice and information and offering discounts on products and services through discount schemes. ISME provides several opportunities for business networking and gives a voice to the issues facing SME owner-managers.
The Role:
As a trusted HR Advisor, you will be responsible for providing a range of HR support services to ISME Members. This is a varied role that offers growth within the HR space, along with your day to day responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to work on some ad hoc projects.
- Provide day to day advice and guidance to small and medium enterprises in a variety of sectors on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, legislation and case law in a timely manner.
- Guide and coach small and medium business owners through HR aspects of business on a daily basis.
- Relay current and up to date advice and information relating to HR to members.
- Provide advice and guidance to members on managing investigations and disciplinary issues.
- Prepare briefings, templates and guides on any new employment legislation.
- Advise on queries relating to performance management, probationary management, recruitment and all other aspects of the HR function.
- Review contracts, handbooks and other members’ material making recommendations in line with current legislation.
- Other Ad Hoc projects as required
Skills/Experience:
- Experience with complex ER issues
- Knowledge of best practices HR and employment law
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
- Ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Strong IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Suite.
- 3+ years of HR experience, with at least 1 year at HR generalist level preferable
