In this interactive lunchtime series delivered by Tracy O’Brien from The People Password you will get up to date and relevant HR information and find out what your business should be focusing on from a people management perspective.

These bite sized, weekly, HR sessions will cover all of the key areas in HR you need to know to manage your business without you having to take time out of your business.

Week 1 – Managing a Hybrid Team

Week 2 – Recruitment and Selection / Talent Acquisition

  • Get to know what legislative requirements govern recruitment and selection 
  • Understand the key do’s and don’ts 
  • Get information on how the experts operate recruitment and selection
  • Understand how to make sure you are getting the best staff for your business 

Week 3 Contracts and Probation Management

  • Understand the legal requirements around a contract of employment
  • Learn how to structure your contracts of employment so that you are protecting your business 
  • Understand how to effectively manage a probation period
  • Learn how to manage poor performance during probation 

Week 4 – Must have policies

  • Learn about new policies and procedures you should be implementing in your business to remain compliant with codes of practice and legislation 
  • Understand which policies you need to update to ensure that your business is complying with recent changes to legislation 
  • Find out which policies you should have in your handbook and which ones should be in your contract of employment

Week 5 – Learning and Development

  • People’s experience of your company in their first three months determines whether or not they will stay – learn how to onboard new staff and engage them – even if they are working remotely
  • Learn how to create simple, cost effective training

Week 6 – Managing Performance

  • Understand the Performance Management process
  • Gain insight into a quick and efficient way to manage performance on an ongoing basis
  • Get the basics in managing Grievance and Disciplinary processes

Week 7 – Managing Absence and Statutory Leave 

  • Learn how to manage absence due to illness effectively
  • Get to know your employees rights to take leave from your business

Week 8 – Wellbeing and Diversity

  • Learn about how to have an integrated Wellbeing approach
  • Understand the importance of Diversity to your business performance 
  • Learn about Psychological safety and its importance as the basis for a high performing team 

Week 9 – Culture

  • Get to grips with the foundations of Employee Engagement
  • Learn how to manage Change effectively every time
  • Understand what your Employer Brand is and how you should be managing it

Week 10 – Understanding and managing conflict

  • Get to know your approach to conflict
  • Make conflict easier by understanding its causes and how to pre-empt it
  • Understand how to give feedback without causing conflict

 

Dates and Time

  • The series will start on 15th June and will run until the 19th July
  • 12pm- 1:15pm via Zoom
