Scientists who have solved the mysteries involved in the Bermuda Triangle, after many years have given up on the Black Hole phenomenon in the Irish Postal service. It is a well-known fact that more cheques have been lost in the Irish Postal Service than any other in the developed or undeveloped world.
However, from the 12th of July, (only 7 years late, in line with the general theme of lateness), the Irish Post Code, Eircode, comes into being. It was a “red letter day” for the country, (I just couldn’t resist that one!). By the way, we are no longer the only country in Europe without a postal code.
‘The cheque is in the post’
While the internet and internet banking has alleviated the problem of payments, the Eircode should ensure faster deliveries of cheques in the post.
Irish business should now start using Eircode to ensure accuracy of contact details and faster, more reliable deliveries. Just as important, by adopting your Eircode you are showing that you are up-to-date and professional in your business.
