Germany is located in Western/Central Europe and is bordered by Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.

It is a founding member of the EU (then EEC) since 1958.

It has a population of approximately 83 million people. The capital city is Berlin that has a population of approximately 4 million inhabitants.

Germany is part of the Schengen Zone.
