Committees

The Board of Directors of ISME are committed to improving services to members and ensuring that ISME’s voice is heard where it matters. To improve our performance a number of committees have been established. Members are urged to get involved at committee level so that they too can make that difference.

External Relations Committee

• Develop and foster convivial relationships between ISME and other professional bodies, State Agencies, Government Departments and other similar organisations
• Identify and recommend ISME representatives to attend meetings and sit on committees or bodies that affect SMEs

Services Committee

• Oversee the introduction of services to members including discounted group schemes, advisory services etc.
• Develop advisory publications such as the employers’ obligations and grant support programmes

Policy Committee

• Identify issues which are relevant to the SME sector and to devise relevant policy
• Ensure policies are in accordance with the ISME aims and benefit the interests of the SME sector
• Consider and develop responses to statements made by Government bodies and other agencies which are relevant to SMEs

Membership Development Committee

• Promote the membership of ISME and expand the membership base

Press and Public Relations Committee

• Develop and maintain a relationship with the press and other media agencies
• Ensure that all press releases and ISME statements are communicated in a proper fashion
• Take responsibility to communicate the decisions of the policy committee to the press and other bodies
• Identify spokespersons who would speak on behalf of the organisation and provide appropriate training to the selected persons
• Issue an update to members on a monthly basis
